The rail from Tamworth to Barraba closed many years ago. The station at Manilla is no longer there but the viaduct that crosses the Namoi river is still there despite some calls to have it removed. Here are some pictures taken in Feb 2023.

Bundanoon
Here are some shots of Bundanoon taken with my drone. The Hotel is a great place to stay and as you can see is very close to the main southern railway line. There are a number of good restaurants in town including the hotel. This is a busy section of track and trains pass through constantly day and night. Intermodal trains that run to Perth and the Whyalla steel trains pass through as the head to Cootamundra West before heading west. There are Brisbane - Melbourne intermodal, Qube trains, garbage trains that head out on the Canberra line, limestone trains to Medway Jct, XPT & Explorers, SSR grain trains plus others. Bundanoon is also close to the Morton National Park with great scenery and bush walking. Plan your next railfan holiday there- you won't be dissapointed.

Christmas Greetings 2022
To all my regular followers and to everyone else who has viewed my site this year, thanks and I wish you all a Happy Christmas. Next year I will continue with my rail adventures. Hopefully the Zig Zag railway will start operating again. The Maitland Steamfest is scheduled for the end of April. Hopefully a trip to South Australia mid year. No doubt other trips away if something interesting pops up?
Regards, Andrew

Fassifern
Here are some shots from a recent trip to Fassifern. This may seem strange but this is the first time I have been to Fassifern to photograph trains. There is a good variety and frequency of trains on this section of track. In the steam era this was a very popular location for rail fans. There are numerous youtube videos of trains climbing Fassifern Bank. The station was the junction for the Toronto line but this was closed years ago. You can get some good shots on the platform and I hope to return again. I hope you enjoy the shots.
Beresfield
Here are a few pics from Beresfield in Oct 22. Whilst this is still a busy section of track it was noticeable that the frequency of coal trains was fewer.
