The Pichi Richi Railway is based at Quorn in South Australia's Flinders Ranges. The line passes through the Pichi Richi pass and was part of the original Ghan narrow gauge line. Here are a selection of photos taken over a number of years showing a variety of locomotives, railcars. Steam locos include W, NM, & YX class. They also have a steam motor coach nicknamed "Coffee Pot" This loco/railcar is over 100 years old and ran between Quorn & Hawker. Diesels include NT & NSU class that were operated by the Commonwealth Railway. They also have a Brill railcar and coach. The line is very scenic with a number of interesting bridges. Check out their web page www.pichirichirailway.org.au for timetables etc. I hope you enjoy the pics.
