The Savannahlander train runs from Cairns to Forsyth (QLD) The trip takes four days with overnight stays at Almaden, Forsyth & Mt Surprise. The train leaves early on Wednesday morning and returns late afternoon on Saturday. The line climbs up the range from Cairn to Kuranda then through the towns of Mareeba, Almaden, Einasleigh, Mount Surprise & Forsyth. Here are some photos taken in 2010. If you enjoy riding on a vintage railmotor and like great scenery then I recommend this trip.
