Here is a selection of photos past and current taken at or near Werris Creek. The Sydney to Armidale/Moree Explorer train divides/combines at Werris Creek. There are numerous coal trains operated by Aurizon and Pacific National that pass through each day. There are also other types of trains that pass through with operators such as SSR and QUBE. Located on the station is a railway museum that is well worth visiting, but check the opening times as they can vary. The Australian Railway Monument is also located at the station. This monument honours the men and women who have lost their lives working on the railways. The yards and main line signalling are remotely operated but in the past there were two signal boxes that controlled the yard and station. Staff and ticket was used to Tamworth and miniature electric staff heading west and south. Pacific National have a service centre and Crawfords load trains there also.
